Thought for the Day…Tuesday, September 15th, 2009“No person who can read is ever successful at cleaning out an attic.” - Ann Landers The Latest on CPSIAWednesday, August 26th, 2009The latest ruling from the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) requires that products covered under the CPSIA and manufactured after August 14, 2009 have a tracking label. At this time, the requirement applies to all printed matter (including books) intended for use by children 12 years old and younger. The purpose of the tracking label is to enable the consumer to identify the manufacturer, the location of the manufacturer, the date the product was produced (or range of time), and the batch run. The policy allows this information to be printed in common English within the book, or to use a code or numbering system provided the necessary information remains ascertainable by the consumer. For a complete review of the CPSIA policies and guidelines for tracking labels click on the link to visit the Consumer Product Safety Commission web site.
