Animated Film About the Power of Books is Nominated for Academy Award
January 31st, 2012”The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore” is a sweet 15-minute animated film that highlights the power and pleasure of reading.
The film was one of five nominations for the 2012 Academy Awards’ Best Animated Short category, announced Jan. 24 and has already won 13 awards, including “Best Animated Short” and “Audience Award Winner” at the Austin Film Festival, and “Best Animated Short” at the Cinequest Film Fest.

Grass Roots Movement to Promote Books and Reading
January 27th, 2012There is a campaign happening in our country that has nothing to do with political parties. It is called World Book Night and its purpose is to give away one million free paperback books across America to new or reluctant readers and those without easy access to books.
On April 23rd, 50,000 volunteers will give away one million books from a preselected list of 30 titles. Volunteers wanting to share their passion for books are currently being recruited on line.
